Bio

My name is Brittney Leigh Cunningham Hamrick.  I have lived in Calhoun County all of my life.  I am a 2005 graduate of White Plains High School, where I was involved in various leadership activities and on the dance line for 5 years.  I served as captain for three of those years.  I completed my student teaching experience in Spring 2009 with Mrs. Tammy Joy Davis (formerly Magee)  in kindergarten at OES.  I graduated from Jacksonville State University in May 2009, with a degree in Elementary Education.  I married my husband, Kevin on June 27, 2009.  We have been married for 8 years this June.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, shopping, and traveling.  I also love hibiscus flowers, flip flops, palm trees, the beach, and "I Love Lucy" collectibles.  I attend Cornerstone Worship Center on Choccolocco Road in Anniston.  We have a seven year old Toy Poodle named, Chloe Jean Hamrick and a daughter named, Arabella Leigh who turned 4 in April.  Her name means "answered prayer".

This is my ninth year at C. E. Hanna Elementary.  I have taught math, science, and language enrichment.  This year I will be teaching math to your child.  I am so excited about this year, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with and teach your child.  Children are a treasure, and I learn something from them each day.  I often tell my students, "I am learning from you each day just like you are learning from me".  I want each child to develop a meaningful experience through investigations in math, and to see that nothing is impossible with a little hard work.  I never want a child to feel scared to ask a question.  My goal is to make learning exciting for every student that I teach.  I believe in having a positive attitude at all times and always working toward success.  I also believe in continuous parent/guardian communication.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a concern, a question, or if you just want to check on your child's progress.  Oxford has a rich tradition and great sense of pride.  I am so excited to be teaching your child, and I know we will have a very successful and exciting year together.  Go Jackets!  Math Rocks at C. E. Hanna Elementary!  :-)
